XREUMA DCS is a piece of footwear particularly recommended for the elderly and designed to treat the rheumatic foot at home; it benefits individuals who suffer from joint pain and have major deformities as well as providing secondary prevention for the diabetic foot.
The semi-rigid biomechanical outsole contributes to a steady gait and reduces stress at the ankles and knees, thus alleviating pain, facilitating lympho-venous drainage and lessening swelling of the legs (an excellent solution for vascular disorders).
The rigid Timing Rocker Sole® biomechanical outsole uses DCS Dynamic Cross System® technology. It is a fibre-composite insert located inside the tread which helps to curb excessive pronation and supination and boasts an extra bearing capacity to make sure that the sole does not collapse in the case of overweight wearers (tested up to 140 kg). This system ensures an excellent elastic response and contributes to an improved gait, reducing the joint energy requirements for a smooth elastic transition.
The stretchable upper without seams at friction points adapts to the anatomy of the foot, softly accommodating any deformities (such as a hallux valgus or hammer toes) and avoiding dangerous painful rubbing while ensuring the utmost comfort, even in the case of bursitis, gout and marked callosity.
The fastening and raised back counter ensure greater stability for the foot and ankle whereas the double velcro closure allows the wearer to open the front of the upper and makes for an easy entry.
This piece of footwear has been designed for the insertion of a ready-made or bespoke insole.
