REHADIAB is a closed-heel sandal recommended for tertiary-prevention of diabetic foot (in the case of a history of ulcers and Charcot foot). It was designed for patients who need to alleviate pressure on the sole of the foot in the event of transmetatarsal amputations, ray amputations, and minor ones on the forefoot. It also serves to treat the rheumatic foot with serious deformities.
The rigid biomechanical outsole limits stress on the joints of the foot whilst the wearer is walking and significantly reduces pressure peaks on the forefoot, contributing to a proper distribution of pressure. The rigid outsole reduces the risk of re-ulceration in diabetic patients by over 50% (tests conducted by the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute (Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli), University of Bologna). With its “boat”-shaped design, it contributes to the push-off stage and helps the foot to roll more easily.
The stabilizing counter rises up to the ankle to provide the foot and ankle with improved support.
The stretchable upper without seams at friction points takes the shape of the foot, softly accommodating any deformities (such as a hallux valgus or hammertoes) and avoiding painful rubbing and chafing.
The triple-velcro fastening makes it easy to open the front of the sandal completely, making it extremely practical to wear.
The extra-large fit and adjustable internal volume are ideal for individuals with big, bandaged, swollen, or sore feet.
The sandal has been designed for the insertion of ready to wear foot orthotic (including bulky ones).
The Rehadiab should be USED IN COMBINATION WITH one of the following products:
- Modus insole pair (code: PL350)
- Custom made foot orthotic
