As a piece of footwear, VIA is particularly recommended for the elderly, to be used after a post-operative shoe but also in the case of sprains, unsteadiness, painful walking, rehabilitation, delicate skin and vascular disorders.

The flexible stumble-proof biomechanical outsole, stabilising back counter and wide footbed all contribute to a very steady gait.

The stretchable upper without seams at friction points adapts to the shape of the foot, softly accommodating any deformities (such as a hallux valgus or hammer toes) and avoiding dangerous painful rubbing. This piece of footwear is also recommended for patients with callosity or who suffer from disorders such as metatarsalgia, gout or bursitis.

The velcro closure means that the shoe can be fastened with one hand only, comfortably accommodating feet which are sore or swollen as well as bandaged feet or those which have been deformed by rheumatoid arthritis. If need be, a ready-made or bespoke insole or a brace can be inserted.

In the case of patients confined to a wheelchair, the rear bumper on VIA protects against heel injury caused by knocking against the wheelchair.
